The Murmansk Region is mostly located beyond the Arctic Circle. It occupies three peninsulas – Kola, Rybachy and Sredny, washed by the Barents and White Seas.
Area – 144,900 km2.
The population is 724,452 people .

The administrative center is Murmansk, the world's largest city beyond the Arctic Circle, from whose ice–free port the Northern Sea Route originates.

The region of the Arctic zone of Russia with pristine nature, majestic industrial artifacts, belonging to the territories of the original residence of the indigenous peoples of the North.
